At Balmid we take the safety and transparency of our products very seriously, and we place great emphasis on ensuring that all our products meet the relevant regulations and standards set by the European Union. Depending on the product type, different rules and requirements for documentation and labelling apply. Our scientific and regulatory experts are here to help you in this jungle.

We offer a full cosmetic service scope to successfully place cosmetic and personal care products on the EU market. We lift the numerous burdens on the legal obligations of the responsible person, as well as perform a rigid quality control in-house of all products to ensure the efficacy and safety of the products and its raw-materials. This entails;

Product registration and notification:

All products places on the EU market must be notified in the Cosmetic Products Notification Portal (CPNP). Balmid can either make the registration or provide all the necessary documentation and information required to complete the notification.

Compilation of the Product Information File (PIF): 

Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009, of cosmetics products require all cosmetic products placed on the market to have a PIF consisting of the description of the product, the Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR), manufacturing method and GMP practices compliance declaration, evidence of the claimed effect and assurance that the ban on animal testing for cosmetic purposes is fulfilled.

Labelling and changes in the artwork:

Depending on your needs we can either help with your product design and artwork from scratch, or be helpful in making small changes. Our experts will also help to review the labelling and check that it is correct from a legal point of view.

General advice and support:

Our experts help you with advice and support throughout the product development process and also be helpful e.g. in case of customer questions and any complaints at later stages when the product is on the market.

CHEMICAL PRODUCTS

• Quality assurance in terms of classification, labelling and packaging in accordance with the CLP Regulation.
  

• Generation of safety data sheets according to the new amending regulation (EU 2020/878) to REACH.
  

• Generation of UFI code and registration of the product to the appointed bodies (i.e, poison centres) using the format and content harmonized by the amended Annex VIII of CLP regulation.
  

• Registration of the product to the Swedish Chemicals Agency's product register.

• General advice and support such as product labelling, interaction with authorities within Europe etc.

For tools and accessories, different directives and regulations apply depending on products intended use, composition and construction.
